This formatting service is available as a one-off service for full-length PhD and book projects only. It provides a quick proof and formatting check of your work to ensure peace of mind before you submit, costing just £165 for the full project. 

While we all know that presentation matters, getting a full proof and edit of your PhD is not financially viable for many doctorate students and writers (costing around £600-1,000 for the average work of 60-100,000 words). Some also don’t have the time — a proof and edit of a 100,000 words will usually take about four weeks. 

This ‘quick proof and formatting’ service provides a faster and more affordable option. The formatting can be done within a few days if booked in advance. The cost is set at a standard charge of £165 (210 EUR). 

What can you expect from the formatting?

The final check and formatting will always:

• Ensure the formatting of the document is consistent, the font, spacing, titling and contents list are all consistent and error-free. Interactive contents lists can be created or double-checked.
• Check the in-text referencing is consistently formatted throughout; note mistakes in the referencing.
• Search for obvious errors like inconsistent use of UK/US English, spelling errors, etc. 
• Consider any further detailed requests you may have that can reasonably be achieved in the time available.

Basically, I spend the time going through the text, looking for major issues. If I spot anything suspicious, I check this throughout the text. I can look out for things you suggest, or I can use my initiative. What I work on will vary from one text to another depending on where I think the problems may lie, but I will always check the formatting, in-text referencing and spelling.

Importantly, this is not a full proof and edit — I will not read the full text. What I do is make sure it looks perfect and then focus in on problem areas.

Is the formatting service the right one for me?

I can advise as to whether this service or a full proof and edit is recommended for your work if you send me a chapter to look over before I begin. It is usually quite easy to tell what a work needs. However, I also understand that due to financial limitations this may be all someone can afford, so the final choice is up to you. Just be aware of the limits of this service.
